As it is very difficult to find details and reliable specs on many of these unfamiliar models, we soon plan to dedicate a page to each model with all the information found on the web, photos and descriptions from our shop and customers and their travels.
Meanwhile, PLEASE feel free to ask any and every question about these models or the preparation we do!
The most popular service we offer is to purchase new motorcycles for you here in Peru, prep them for your trip (including racks), and have all the paperwork, license plate and insurance papers done for you by the time you arrive. When you arrive it only takes a signature to change it over to your name (a requirement to cross borders) instead of the normal 4 to 5 weeks!
Then you can be on your way!

The 'PURCHASE FOR YOU' program works like this: You purchase one of the New or Used/Made-New motorcycles THROUGH US from the choices below.
Go on your epic trip!! If you plan to return to Peru to sell it, we will help you with the process of the sale.
YOUR bike in YOUR name to cross borders and do with as you wish during and after your ride! If you bring it back to us you can get the better part of your investment back and no lost time trying to get a good price for it! This method of you PURCHASING the bike and then SELLING it comes out costing you SO MUCH LESS than what you would pay to ship your own bike even one way to South America!
ALL IS INCLUDED in the price of the moto (aside from all the prep):
- As soon as you enter Peru we process your PERMISO OFICIAL with the government so that you can sign contracts (moto transferred to your name).
- We help you purchase in-country bus or airline travel to come to us in Huanuco.
- We have all the name transfer paperwork ready so all you have to do is take 30 minutes out of your schedule to sign some papers at the notary. Then you have all you will need to ride off - no waiting!
- We pre-purchase the peruvain SOAT insurance for you so you are ready to ride!
- We chase the official documentation with the Peruvian Motor Vehicles registry and send the paperwork on to you wherever you are.
- a 2-hour session with our lead Tech on how to maintain your moto.
- advice, safety, routes, recommendations, maps (of Peru), etc - FREE
- we help you get a phone SIM card and how to load data on it in Peru.
- We are available for you to call us with any concern during your trip. Translations, advice, help if you are in trouble...

There are NO Chinese bikes over 250cc (yet available in Peru).
We have now prepared 190 of these bikes for foriegners who have ridden them as far as the tip of Chile/Argentina and back, to the Carribean Ocean and back, some of them 2-up with luggage! So we know they are reliable and can do the job, even at high altitude!

our 'used' motos
Our 'used' motorcycles are ALMOST NEW !! That is why we call them 'USED/MADE NEW'. We do a COMPLETE FRAME & ENGINE TEARDOWN & BUILD-UP on them just like we do to a new one.
NEW TIRES, INNER TUBES, NEW BRAKES, NEW WHEEL BEARINGS, NEW STEERING BEARINGS, NEW DRIVE, REBUILT SUSPENSION, REFRESHED ENGINE, and at times even NEW PLASTIC no matter how little wear the prior rider put on it!!
These sell for $300 TO $500 LESS than a 'new' one, and don't require the 4-5 weeks to get all the paperwork & license plate !! Yet it is always best with more notice!
motorcycle prep
On a monthly basis we will update the availablity and price of the NEW motorcycles here in Peru (price can vary from month to month due to the USD/sole exchange). The prices stated here include:
- Full Trip Prep of motorcycle including short break-in period so that you can load it as soon as you arrive and not worry about that. We break them in with MOTUL 3000 organic oil, then switch to MOTUL 7100 Full Synthetic.
- We remove the low quality fork oil and replace it with the MOTUL 10W Fork Oil.
- We remove the stock steering neck loose ball bearings, install conical needle bearings, lubricate and correctly adjust the bearings.
-O Ring chain and best ratio sprocket and pinion(s) for the riding you will do in South America. We even include an extra smaller front pinion for if you want to switch and go trail riding.
-Carburator jetted correctly for altitudes you will be traveling and load you will be carrying for the gasoline you will find on your travels so you rarely have to change jets during your whole trip! We will give you a larger 'coastal' jet also if you will be spending time on the coast or the jungle.
- Rebuilt exhaust. All motorcycles get a rebuilt exhaust to aid flow and air/fuel mix especially at altitude. We rebuild it into a free-flowing (but not loud) fiberglass exhaust. This is necessary to allow you to use the same jetting for almost all altitudes instead of having to re-jet even multiple times per day as you change altitudes in the Andes! Even on the fuel injected models, this adds power and better acceleration.
-Every frame nut and bolt removed (many replaced with better quality bolts), Locke-Tite'd and installed with correct torque. In many cases we will replace (or add to) the standard nut with a nylon insert nut to avoid loosening.
-The thin Steel Rims that come on the TORQUE 250, MP250,and TRITON 250 models (and the 18/21 inch wheel upgrade of the X-TERRA 250 model) are replaced with better aluminum rims and thicker spokes torqued correctly, so you will not have wheel issues on your ride. The smaller 200cc bikes keep their steel rims.
- The TRITON 250, TORQUE 250, X-TERRA 200/250, NEXUS 250XR and TEKKEN 250 models come with soft motocross style tires that will wear fast, vibrate and limit your speeds on pavement. INCLUDED in the price is a choice of good tires geared to your trip style.
- Strong rear and side racks. These bikes come some with no rear rack at all, and others with just a postage stamp sized rear rack that is cantilevered off the end of the frame, limiting your load and possibly breaking the rear of the frame if you load it. We build a solid rear rack to 25cm x 25cm with reinforcing triagulization to the rear footpeg mounts, painted & installed. All bikes get this. The 250cc and 300cc bikes also get side racks are 40cm x 30cm. We recommend soft-side bags. Even if you don't use side bags, these side racks are protection for the bike in a fall!
- Aluminum/Plastic barkbuster style handguards on all models. There WILL be falls ! Protect your hands in spills or traffic ! Even the bike falling over in soft soil and breaking one of the levers can be critical !
- Spring loaded shift lever on the more on/off-road models such as the TORQUE 250 and the TRITON 250. The shift lever that comes stock on these models is solid and short, making it hard to shift with a riding boot. And a solid shifter, in a fall, can bend in and break a hole in the case! We replace the stock shift lever with a longer spring loaded one more made for acuating it with a riding boot.
-All paperwork costs, (including the cost to tranfer into your name when you arrive, and even if you sell it back to us), license plate and Peruvian SOAT insurance (1 year) required by law. When you arrive the transfer of ownership process will take 30 minutes and then you will be ready to ride away and even cross international borders!
extras
The 'EXTRAS' are over and above the prices below of the 'Regular Prep' of the motorcycle, but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (depending on your model) to get the most out of your trip! NONE of these increase the Buy Back of the motorcycle. We leave the extras on the moto for the next rider and your investment is a GIFT to the next rider. WE ARE A COMMUNITY! SUPPORT EACH OTHER!
- Front rack. This is a small rack above the front headlight and bolts to the front forks. You can carry a light sleeping bag, tent or bed roll (to give you more seat room), or a small pack for gear/papers/snacks/camera you need to get at along the ride. Easy to remove yourself when just going out for a joy ride! Also protects your headlight in a fall. $25 (installed). The front rack is not possible on the HONDA XRE300, the YAMAHA XTZ250 TENERE, and the NEXUS 250XR as they have fixed forward headlight and there is no way to connect a front rack to the front forks as on the other models.
- Windscreen. The X-TERRA 250 and YAMAHA XTZ250 TENERE come with small windscrrens. If you would like us to custom build and install a medium sized windscreen on any of the other models, or extend the windscreen on the X-TERRA or TENERE, we can do that! $44 (installed).
- Aluminum handlebars. Yes, some of the Chinese bikes DO vibrate a bit, but the aluminum handlebars take most of that out that your hands don't fall asleep so easily. $47 (installed). We can also get the PRO TAPER 1 1/8" bars, but they will also require the converter/risers to fit them. $67 for both (installed).
- Aluminum handlebar risers. Are you tall and/or you like to ride standing? These solid aluminum 30mm risers (7/8" brought from the USA) make for a MUCH more comfortable ride! $30 (installed).
- Wide pegs. These provide extra comfort for your feet, especially when standing up! $20 (custom widened), $45 (factory).
- 12v/USB outlet on the handlebars. Easily plug in your GPS and/or phone while you ride! Also great access for your electric air pump without removing panels and luggage to get to the battery! $21 (installed).
- Better battery. If you plan to add extra load to the battery, or do a long or hard ride, we recommend a better quality battery than comes stock with the motorcycle. Price dependent on motorcycle model (installed).
- Phone holder. Available here is an aluminum phone holder just off your handlebars for your navigation. $18 (installed).
